Remember the feeling of butterflies in your stomach? It’s said you only feel that way when you're truly heading toward your destiny. What were you doing when you got that feeling?

I bet it was something out of your comfort zone, something that scared you, made you nervous and gave you an adrenaline rush.

For me, it has always been something that challenges me; my beliefs, my thoughts or my skills. I had an near-death-experience downhill biking in Canada. I fractured both hips, my femur, back and sustained a traumatic brain injury that took 3 years to recover. If it wasn’t for my accident, I would be living a different life— one that gave me an image of faux happiness.

Through a screen, everyone seems as if they are living their best life, but are they doing what they truly love?…or putting on a façade to be like the majority? My accident showed me what genuinely makes me grateful for life: the process not the result. I am living my best life, the one that makes me happy, not my followers.

As life goes on, I encourage you to do something different than the herd, try not to be content with the majority. If everyone walks left, go right. Don’t change yourself to make others like you. Act as you would if you didn’t have to show only your best days…

Dear Untamed Youth,

Mitch
